The Dream

The old men already had their shot. The people had spoken. They wanted a woman. They wanted that woman. And she won. The people won! Fair and square! It was time for the women to lead us. But no. The old men just could not let go. They could not take another 4 years losing control. So before the election even happened. They sat there. The disgruntled old men that they were. Stalling, as they schemed. They sunk to the lowest of their lows. Payback. For 8 years of a young man. That was too much for them. So they slowly distracted us. Started murdering the young in the streets. Bringing us back to the old days. Shooting bullets of their old man fears into the young bodies. On television for all to see. Attempting to traumatize another generation with their tactics of violence and injustice. Not even a young man at the head of the table could change this house of old men. And the woman we all asked for? Well, the old men robbed us of her. Sent us back in time another 60 years. So the old men can re-live their so called “glory days”. Days when the women pretended to be submissive to their patriarchal society. And the young men and women? Well they want us to go back to a time where the young were “respectful” to the old white men that stole the land, enslaved their ancestors and for generations to follow robbed them of their fair share of the so called “American dream”.
